As an employer, if the organization removes the potential hazards that first caused the injury, the organization will benefit by making the workplace safer for all your workers. There are two categories of costs associated with work injury, i.e. insured costs and uninsured costs.

The Insured Costs Include:

  • Employees’ Compensation
  • Medical Expenses
  • Losses of Income
  • Compensation for Permanent Disability, etc.

The Uninsured Costs include:

  • Lower Worker Morale and Company Image
  • Higher Labour Conflict
  • Loss of Skills/Experience
  • Idle Time – Work Interruption
  • Surplus Workers for Replacement of Injured Worker
  • Cleaning Up after Accident

In the Iceberg Effect, the indirect costs of a workplace injury can be up to nine times more than the direct costs. Are you willing to pay the costs continuously?
